    17/03/2022

    Gentlemen/ Members of the Chamber

    Greetings,

Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards and informs you of receiving the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (43103542) dated (12/8/1443 AH), regarding the letter of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture No. (264401/1776/1443) and dated (6/8/1443 AH), It referred to what the global markets are currently witnessing and its repercussions on the prices of food and grains, especially the wheat and flour crop, as some feed factories purchase wheat from local farmers for use as a fodder input in the fodder industry to feed livestock, These practices conflict with the Ministry’s objectives to secure the need for this main commodity to achieve part of self-sufficiency, and because of this negative and direct impact on food security in the Kingdom. The Ministry wishes to emphasize to the owners of feed factories and agricultural companies not to use local wheat and flour as a feed input. All legal measures will be taken against violators.

    Sincerely yours
